Eta Cygni -- Despayre

Despayre has only recently been colonized, but it was charted even before the migration to Deneb was undertaken when 61 Cygni went nova. The system was found to be potentially rich in minerals and later surveys have confirmed this. The system was long slated to be the resource-production center for Cygnus, which is why the then-Despayre shipyards were placed here. Since then, with the new colonization mandate for Danoc, the shipyards have been renamed to the Starforge Shipyards, and mining operations have begun in the Smuggler's Belt.

Despayre is also home to a rare and attractive gemstone known as Swan's-Eye. This multihued stone has an extremely high index of refraction, so much so that it actually has a temperature slightly higher than ambient, and that it has a very faint aura of Cherenkov radiation. This index is so high that cutting Swan's-Eye with a laser is highly unrecommended; water-cutters are used instead. Whatever other properties this very rare stone may have is unknown at this time.

DESPAYRE II -- DANOC
The Danoc colony is currently under development. It is projected to be a port where the trade of Despayre's minerals and processed ores can be carried out. More often than not, these transactions will be by computer, it not being cost effective to transport minerals to Danoc's surface only to send them back up to orbit. Construction of an orbital processor is a high priority. Danoc will also be the site of a major research and tech center, which will hopefully centralize and streamline the Authority's research efforts. Recently, the main subrelativistic massdriver for the CSA Blacksilver was removed, modified, and placed on Danoc to serve as a surface-to-orbit cargo massdriver. It is fed by a geothermal tap and a pair of small fusion generators

SMUGGLER'S BELT
Smuggler's Belt is the third of four asteroid belts in the Despayre system. The innermost two are insystem of Danoc, just ouside the orbit of Despayre I, while the fourth is outsystem of the jump gate. These will be named when mining operations begin in them officially. It is here that Swan's-Eye is found.

STARFORGE SHIPYARDS
Starforge was originally the Despayre Shipyards, located in the insystem region of 61 Cygni. It was moved to the Eta Cygni system and proved its worth in the exile following the nova of 61 Cygni. During this period it completely rebuilt the corvettes Arcadia and Elysia following their mauling by the Cthulhi darkstar Nephru-Ka.

Starforge is large, with five capship slipways, but currently only one major shipbuilding project can be undertaken at a time due to the limited number of personnel assigned. Furthermore, one CSA ship or another is usually pulling in for repairs or refit, further stretching the shipyard crews. Another major feature of the shipyards is its complexity. It takes cat pilots and workers several weeks to become fully familiar with the layout of the yards. The fact that several of the slipways are routinely mobile as needed does not help. While one of the mobile drydocks could, in theory, be brought through jumpspace to a destination, this would not be looked upon favorably, since it would mean putting valuable resources at risk.
