Background: The Blacksilver was originally a Sovetskii Soyuz-class heavy cruiser BattleTech WarShip. In her 54+ years of service she's had nine refits, been redesignated three times (first battlecruiser, then frontier cruiser, and now command cruiser), decommissioned and used as an orbital multifunction space station, recommissioned and practically rebuilt from the keel up, and used as an emergency evacuation ship for the entire Cygnian population just before the nova of 61 Cygni. The ship's motto, "To Take Back What Is Ours," has many meanings. The most significant one refers to the pride of the Cygnians, which the Commander feels has been lost over the past year due to various incidents (i.e. the ambush of the Falcon, the Horizon incident, the Cygnus Civil War, the confusion in the supposed new rounds of the Machine Wars, Lianis's threats, Toulon's attack, etc.). A similar interpretation refers to the security and safety that once were felt to be had for the Cygnians' and their children. It is symbolic of the fact that, while much may be taken from Cygnus, someday we will take it back, perhaps even with interest. It is interesting to contrast this with the motto of Blacksilver's proposed escort, the CSA Sark: "This Shall I Defend."
